Privacy Policy for Sitrep

Effective Date: April 15, 2026

Introduction

Welcome to Sitrep ("we," "our," or "us"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our website (recall-dun.vercel.app, the "Website") and the services available through it.

1. Information We Collect

When you use our Website and services, we may collect the following categories of information:

Account Information

  • Email address
  • First and last name
  • Profile image (if provided by your identity provider)

This information is collected when you sign up or sign in through our authentication provider, Clerk.

Integration Data

  • Slack data: channel and workspace metadata, message content from channels you connect, and user identifiers scoped to those channels.
  • GitHub data: repository metadata, commits, pull requests, issues, reviews, and author information from repositories you connect.

We only ingest data from sources an authorized member of your organization has connected and only for the scopes granted during authorization.

Usage Information

  • Product interactions, such as dashboards you view, questions you ask, and features you use.
  • Device, browser, and approximate location information derived from your IP address.
  • Log data, including timestamps and error reports.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver the Sitrep service — generating AI-powered weekly summaries, real-time dashboards, and on-demand answers about your team's engineering activity.
  • To authenticate you, maintain your session, and secure your account.
  • To improve our platform, including model quality, reliability, and user experience.
  • To communicate with you about product updates, support requests, and service-related announcements.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Website.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help us recognize your session and preferences.

Types of Cookies We Use

  • Essential cookies: required for core functionality, including authentication and session management via Clerk.
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how the product is used so we can improve it.

Managing Cookies

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in or using parts of the service.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Sub-processors: with trusted third parties that help us operate the platform, including our authentication provider (Clerk), large-language-model providers used to generate summaries and answers, hosting and infrastructure providers, and analytics providers. These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
  • Within your organization: data ingested from shared integrations (e.g. a connected Slack workspace or GitHub organization) may be visible to other authorized members of your organization using Sitrep.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

5. Data Storage and Security

We store your data using reputable cloud infrastructure and protect it with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and the principle of least privilege for internal systems. While we take reasonable precautions to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Third-Party Authentication

Our Website uses Clerk for secure sign-up and authentication. When you sign in through Clerk — including via identity providers Clerk supports — Clerk processes your authentication data on our behalf. By signing in, you also agree to Clerk's privacy practices, which are available here.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access and portability: request a copy of your personal data in a commonly used format.
  • Correction: request that we correct any inaccuracies in your personal information.
  • Deletion: request that we delete your personal data, subject to any legal or contractual obligations we may have.
  • Withdraw consent: disconnect integrations at any time to stop further data ingestion from that source.

To exercise your rights, please contact us at hello@sitrep.ai.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Website and services are not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
